In 2014 I was involved in writing The Witches of Newcastle. This dramatisation of events surrounding the Newcastle witch trials of 1649 used research conducted by a research student at the School of English Literature, Newcastle University and was co-written by staff and postgraduate students from the Creative Writing section of the School. The piece was performed at Newcastle’s Guildhall in June and October 2014. I contributed two monologues, one of them being a verse monologue for the witchfinder.
